Dubious Degrees

I'll never understand the strange individuals responsible for monitoring official weather sites. It's apparently 32 degrees here this afternoon and yet "feels like 33". Really? Who gets to say whether it feels hotter or colder than it actually is, and have they even been to Porto in the first place? Are those of us without access to this arcane information doing anything other than sharing in the subjective disbelief of someone who thinks we're interested in what he or she insists the temperature ought to be? Who is to suggest, for example, that the entire debate over global warming isn't simply the result of one of these delusional weather speculators wearing a superfluous pullover or needing to unzip their jacket?
