Embracing the Elements
ON the whole, complaints about the weather seem fairly pointless to me and I never find myself becoming too distressed by a periodic outbreak of meteorological moisture. Apart from the fact that such phenomena seems to provide the gripers, curmudgeons and bellyachers of this world with an opportunity to hurl seasonal lamentations in the direction of perfect strangers at formerly tight-lipped bus stops, I believe that we should always welcome whatever the weather-gods have in store for us - however inconvenient that might seem.
Besides, there is nothing quite like a few days of unforgiving rain to create the appropriate circumstances in which a writing project might enter its final stages and today is one of those days. The Hyades of ancient lore will either force open the scribal floodgates and allow the creativity to flow, or sweep me away in a wild deluge of mental vacuity.
