THO' memories fade, like summer flowers

How you laughed and how you shone

I count the days, rack up the hours

Since you left us, presumed 'gone'

Dreams were crushed, hearts broken

Future plans made morose

Yet even so, your name is spoken

That deathless presence, ever close

I try to remember, try to recall

When you were still so very small

Curly-headed, blond and sunny

Hazel eyes like natural honey
