For me, I see the Earth Bipeds as a flawed species in the sense that they aren't consciously aware as a rule. They are "possessed" by the emotional centers, if you like. Internal dialog (and image creator) sets off emotions, you get a feedback loop between emotion and the "word virus"... and hallucinations galore... realities are created... in normal society just getting irked (or violent) with people on the basis of internal dialog and hallucination...

Whereas in cases like this we have belief and hallucination... I also contend that belief is a form of emotion, as is faith. They are based on feeling... not objective reason.

Of course you mention the billionaire chap... we also see big money well aware of what I say above and using it to advantage or for a given cause.

Is this messiah like a golem in a sense - by that I mean tulpa, servitor... is the belief engine being used to create a hallucination... much like money is a hallucination (a useful one in a world of scarcity).

One might argue that a 'leap of faith' has an emotional dimension, certainly. Although the failure to keep one's emotions in check is happily destroying the world, I don't have a problem with the emotional basis of spiritual experiences. I say 'basis,' because for me it is emotion that drives the mystic towards the divine encounter. This isn't to suggest, in my opinion, that such experiences are purely emotional. As for your final comments, I think that's true and I'm currently waiting for the Israelis to announce that they have the 'messiah' in their midst. That might provide some entertainment, at least. It is rather like the myth of money, as you say, but then some people are better at performing these illusions than others.
