Human Efficiency
I FIND it absolutely incredible that having cycled down to a large patch of local woodland to photograph the Autumn leaves in all their glory, a team of busybodies from the local council had actually taken it upon themselves to vacuum the entire area and purge every fallen leaf as though each were a disgusting blight on the face of the earth. Not from the footpaths, as you might expect, but from the middle of a dense wood.
So much for the natural ecosystem and the annual decay that is so essential to future growth. As always, modern human efficiency leads to the exhaustive subjugation of every last scrap of nature it comes across. Even if the objective is utterly pointless.
