Manipulating Reality
WHAT better way to mask the illusory character of the outside world, than to create a virtual reality in which the inauthentic has become officially recognised territory in order to formally detach it from the equally spurious nature of day-to-day existence? And what better way to secure the dominance of materialism, than to relegate or confine our dreams and fantasies to either the subconscious mind or the stereoscopic lens of a virtual reality headset?
If one happened to be a Gnostic, for example, waking up from the nightmare of modernity might involve having to distinguish between the modified field of vision presented by the obfuscating chicanery of Technocracy and the more general fabrication of the Demiurge (pictured). That’s if they’re not already one and the same thing. As Dostoyevsky said, “what began with a lie was bound to also end with a lie. That is a law of nature.”
