I EVENTUALLY discovered that people who never read books, and who tend to speak loudly in the presence of those that do, imagine it is possible for the two forms of humanity to co-exist. Murder is always a stark possibility in such cases, although this would mean that some people never get to read their first book whilst others would spend the remainder of their lives doing nothing other than reading books in a tiny room with thick walls and a barred window. It wouldn't be such a bad arrangement, to be perfectly honest, given that prison libraries had access to a more challenging range of literature. Mind you, the actual violence would have to take place between chapters.
