Subversive Reasoning
GOING back a few years, the first thing that went through my head when I heard that somebody had broken the world marathon record in Berlin without knowing any of the competitors was that the person responsible for this sporting feat was most likely of Kenyan extraction. Now, as it turns out, the victor in question was indeed a Kenyan by the name of Eliud Kipchoge and what a fantastic achievement it was.
I suppose there are some people in the world who would label my educated guess a 'thought-crime' in the sense that it constitutes a form of racial profiling, but of course it was merely based on reality. It's all horses for courses, you see, and in this case the best horse won.
